Very good fly on the wall documentary. Follow the highs and lows of the British lions Squad Tour of South Africa in 1997.

In 1997, Living with Lions – the behind the scenes story of the British & Irish Lions Tour of South Africa – was acclaimed as one of the greatest sports films ever made. Now, 12 years on, the Lions are back in South Africa and so are our film crew, recording every minute of what was one of the greatest Lions Test Series of all time.

With unprecedented access to all areas of the Tour, Living with the Pride is the most intimate, honest and intense portrait of life as a Lion ever produced.

From the Pennyhill Park training camp to the magnificent final Test victory in Johannesburg, this is the inside story of how players who are normally the fiercest of opponents turned themselves into a band of brothers desperate to restore pride to The Jersey. Their grueling 10-match tour of the World Champions’ back yard asked questions of the players’ mental and physical strength like never before.

Lions legend and Head Coach Ian McGeechan worked closely with our film crew to make an astonishing no-holds-barred documentary. With access to every player, an open door to every team meeting, training session, selection meeting as well as excusive access to the passion, fury and ultimately elation of the Lions dressing room, this is a unique and uncompromising insight into life on a Lions Tour, described by Tour Manager Gerald Davies as ‘The last great adventure in rugby’.

No Lions Series has ever been closer, with many commentators describing the second Test as ‘the greatest rugby match ever’. Sometimes hilarious, but often brutal, bruising and moving, Living With The Pride is the official and exclusive behind the scenes story of one of the most exhilarating, emotional and memorable sports tours of all time.

What could not be said about the Bokke? 2003 Was the worst year for springbok rugby as Rudolph Streauli put them through Camp Stalingrad – naked training, forcing them underwater….basically not he best way to get the best out of a team.
Along came Jake White and took over the reigns as the Tri-Nations season drew nearer. Not much was being said about this team until their first few games.

Along came the Tri-Nations that saw them pitted against the best two teams in the world, Australia & New Zealand. Away from home they nearly got two unbelievable wins only to be shoved out the way during the last few minutes of each game. The home leg of the T-Nats was ever so sweet for the Boks and supporters. They thrashed New Zealand and finally beat Australia in a nailbiting finish.

This DVD is the king of Bok rugby at it’s best. You could not do without this if you are a Rugby Fan.

The first ten years of Rugby Union’s Tri-Nations series featuring the Southern Hemispheres giants – Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.

The Golden age of Lions Rugby : Tour of 1971 to New Zeland and tour of 1974 to South Africa

LIVING WITH LIONS: THE COMPLETE STORY is a behind-the-scenes documentary following the British Lions 1997 tour of South Africa. Starting with training in England and continuing through every provincial game and test match, this sports film offers a rare glimpse inside the workings of a world-class team.

This is the complete DVD (as some years ago was the Video) with all the highlights from the “Rebel Tour” of the “New Zealand All Blacks” (nicknamed for the tour as “Cavaliers”) to “South Africa” in 1986.

The twelve matches of the tour (including the four “Test” between the “Cavaliers” and the “Springboks”) were hard-fought and nail-biting.

The rythm of the matches were very similar to the professional days that are living now. A high speed game, with high skills levels and of course with many talented players (stars of the history of these two great rugby nations) such as: New Zealand’s Andy Dalton, Hika Reid, Andy Haden, Jock Hobbs, Murray Mexted, Grant Fox, Warwick Taylor, Craig Green… and South Africa’s Uli Schmidt, Flippie van der Merwe, Schalk Burger Sr. (the father of the current flanker of the “SPRINGBOKS”), Louis Moolman, Wahl Bartmann, Gert Smal, Jannie Breedt, Naas Botha, Carel & Michael du Plessis, Danie Gerber…

As I wrote as title, without doubt this DVD is a must for any fan of RUGBY and specially for the “SPRINGBOKS” or “NEW ZEALAND” (“ALL BLACKS”) fans.
